The scariest passage in Scripture

Matthew 7:22-23 King James Version (KJV)
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I titled this site Jester’s mace in reference to 1 Corinthians 4:10: “We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.”
I earnestly want Him to direct my paths; being under the liability of original sin, our walk (indeed) is a constant tug of war between our failing flesh, and the Spirit.  We gain ground, yet it is impossible to go one day without falling short of the perfection.  Our every effort is tainted.

[ Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”]

As of late, I note another bout of issues attempting to assault me simultaneously.  This is nothing new; after all we are told to expect adversity, trials and tribulations in this world.  Contrary to the old song, Life is NOT “just a bowl of cherries” (1931) rather, it is far more accurate to refer to it as Spiritual Boot Camp.

I dare not make an attempt to prophesy.  In observing the signs of the times, this once free country, now a de facto police state, has largely turned away from its Christian roots; in my opinion, we find ourselves fast approaching another turning point: Whether America turns her face toward Him, regains both her moral compass, and the Constitutional awareness set forth by the Founding Fathers, or falls into an abyss without hope of recovery. Presumptive candidate Donald Trump said he’s never sought forgiveness for his sins.  [See CNN]

That is scary; belief in God is not enough. We need to pray that he awakens from that spiritual blindness.
Again, my opinion, there is Biblical evidence as to why America is not directly mentioned in Bible prophecy:
It is quite simple, you can’t have a free country, and a one world government.  The Bible tells of that event, so it is a foregone conclusion that at some point, America as we knew her will cease to exist.
I do stop to examine myself, and all to painfully realize how much ours is an imputed righteousness, that of Jesus Christ, and we cannot bring anything to the table.

Ephesians 2:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Let Him keep us ever mindful, and vigilant, as a watcher on the wall. Amen.

I’ve not made any postings on Jester’s mace for some time.  This is a well deserving sermon; PWE has more visitors, so I’m posting at both blogs. You can’t ignore this message without being a tare.  Link courtesy of Joe (JoeDanMedia) aka Intellectual Froglegs. His comment:

Truth be told—and I can only speak from my own experience, but most sermons can’t be over soon enough—because most pastors aren’t very good at communicating.  They are like bad teachers… no, they ARE bad teachers. They’re the ones that cause a good man to start dozing off, thinking of lunch….and what’s the score?

For over 2 years now, I’ve been regularly sharing my search for a church, the frustrations and the lessons learned— and now I’m proud to say, the search is over.  I’d like to introduce you guys to my new pastor, Steve Berger of Grace Chapel.  Passion & Reason & Intellect…and God’s Word. Wow. Add all that together and you get some Power Sermons.

Dude kicks some serious biblical butt, and today’s sermon was a power sermon indeed…

Steve addresses the city of Houston’s blatant attack on our religious freedom….and examines Lot’s stand for God’s Truth in spite of the prevailing culture and desires of the people of Sodom. We ALL need to take a stand at the Door just as Lot did:

To get straight to Steve, skip ahead to 21:42

The Hal Lindsey Report: Eisenhower to Obama

  • Posted by Thomas Hohenstein on September 13, 2013 at 11:00am

This week on ‘The Hal Lindsey Report’

In 1954, the American Legion sponsored a series of network television broadcasts called “Back to God.” On one of those national telecasts, President Dwight D. Eisenhower appeared from the White House. He thanked the American Legion for urging Americans to acknowledge God in their daily lives.

Then the President said, “As a former soldier, I am delighted that our veterans are sponsoring a movement to increase our awareness of God in our daily lives. In battle, they (the veterans) learned a great truth, that there are no atheists in the foxholes.”
Can you imagine this happening today?

The President humbly referred to himself as “a former soldier.” In truth, he was one of only five Americans to earn the rank of five-star general. He was the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe in World War II. He and General George Washington are undeniably the most widely admired soldiers in American history.
Fast forward to 2013. An Air Force chaplain at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage, Alaska, wrote a column for the base website. Keep in mind that Lt. Col. Reyes is a chaplain. He titled his column: “No Atheists in Foxholes: Chaplains Gave All in World War II.”

His look back at the contributions and sacrifices of chaplains on the battlefields of World War II quoted one of America’s most beloved soldiers and Presidents, Dwight Eisenhower. Now, that sounds like pretty safe territory for a military chaplain to tread, doesn’t it? An officer whose job is to provide spiritual comfort and guidance to his troops remembering the sacrifices of other officers who provided spiritual comfort and guidance to their troops on the battlefield? And basing it on a quote from one of America’s greatest soldiers and Presidents?
    Wrong.

Folks, this ain’t 1954 and that ain’t your Daddy’s Oldsmobile!
Chaplain Reyes was reprimanded for the column and his base commander publicly apologized for not stopping him from discussing religious subjects on the base website. What was the chaplain expected to discuss? Automotive repair tips?

So what has changed since 1954? Lots of things, obviously, but two stand out: 1. These are the last days. 2. Mikey Weinstein.

You probably remember Mr. Weinstein from previous programs. He heads the benignly and misleadingly named Military Religious Freedom Foundation or MRFF. (A more appropriate name would be the Military Freedom FROM Religion Foundation.)
The MRFF protested the chaplain’s column and within five hours it had been removed from Elmendorf’s website.

Apparently no place or venue is safe from Mr. Weinstein’s near-omnipresent gaze. He’s the guy who publicly called a Christian service member sharing his or her faith “spiritual rape.” He has labeled Christians “monsters,” “terrorists,” and “enemies of the Constitution.”

Who cares, you say? He sounds like a nut! Well, I agree, but President Obama doesn’t. In fact, Weinstein has become the Administration’s go-to guy on topics of “religious tolerance” in the U.S. military. Which sounds about par for the course these days — pick someone who has NO religious tolerance to advise the brass on religious tolerance.

Just a few short decades ago, our national leaders actually promoted faith in God and the inclusion of God in the life and fabric of the nation. You see, they faced the specter of an opposing world superpower who sought to eliminate God and vest His authority in the State.

They understood that America’s strength lay in her citizens’ belief in and obeisance to an authority higher than man-made government: the Divine Creator. That freed us from the doubt and indecision and fear that pervades when the conduct of our lives is determined solely by whoever is in power at the moment.

It’s a short and undeniable principle: Man changes. God doesn’t. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or brain surgeon to figure which of the two will provide a more stable national environment.

On August 21, 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill sat together, with hundreds of sailors and marines, at a church service aboard the HMS Prince of Wales in a harbor on the coast of Newfoundland. They sang the hymns of the church and drank in the strength provided by a mutual spiritual heritage and faith in a common God.

Later, Roosevelt told his son that the service “cemented us” for the dark days of World War II that lay ahead. Churchill wept during “Onward, Christian Soldiers” and later remarked that, “Every word seemed to stir the heart. It was a great hour to live.”
It brings tears to my eyes just writing these words. My friends, that is a world that is long past.

In Britain today, fewer than 10% attend religious services, and a majority of those are Muslim. Now, the number one choice for a baby’s name in the UK is “Mohammed.”

In Luke 18:8, Jesus Himself asked this question: “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Some studies show that atheism will replace “religion” as the dominant spiritual practice by 2041.

I personally don’t worry too much about atheism because every man and woman has an innate awareness of God. But I do worry about the church. Will we become so desperate to attract people to our pews that we’ll modify and water down the message of the Gospel? Perfect examples of this are the liberal denominations that have become like empty sepulchers. And now it’s happening in many evangelical mega-churches.

At the rate we’re going, and if the President and his party get their way, I’m not certain Jesus will find faith in the military when He returns. Likewise, I doubt He’ll find faith in the ranks of academia or even in the lower echelons of our educational system. It appears that faith is in achingly short supply in the entertainment business already. Government, at least on the federal level, has already declared its independence from faith and conscience. Many believe that business, especially Big Business, turned its back on God long ago and worships only at the altar of the dollar.

So where will Jesus look for faith when He returns? In your heart and mine. That’s why, no matter what happens in the world around us (and it’s happening fast and furiously), stand confidently on the firm foundation of God’s immutable promises to us. “Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” (Ephesians 6:13, NLT)

Changing the meaning of the language

Changing the meaning of the languagewords-300x180

By Washington Times (DC) May 8, 2013

America is awash in doublespeak.

Words such as “marriage,” “conservatism,” “bigotry,” “tolerance” and “brave” no longer have universal meaning, and this is no accident.

When confusion replaces clarity, the devil breaks out the champagne. It’s so much easier to push people toward the abyss when the stop signs are edited to say “whatever.”

Doublespeak is “language which makes the bad seem good, the negative seem positive, the unpleasant seem unattractive, or at least tolerable,” wrote William Lutz, author of the 1996 book “The New Doublespeak.”

Washington Post reporter Theresa Vargas gave a perfect example in her recent article lauding benighted Maryland parents who are pushing for open homosexuality in the Boy Scouts. As for opponents, well, they’re only concerned about “legal liability” and “how Scout leaders will prevent same-sex dating during overnight trips.”

Yeah, that’s it – two boys sipping on straws from the same soda. Ever-vigilant to fight prudery in a debauched age, liberal journalists are utterly puritanical when it comes to this topic. Perhaps they don’t want people to think about it too much.

The prize for doublespeak goes to the Post’s “Right Turn” columnist Jennifer Rubin. Her hot buttons are “social conservatives” and the Tea Party. She frequently urges the Republican Party to throw them overboard or face oblivion.

Why stop there? In the Post’s Sunday Outlook section, she redefined conservatism itself in a full-page screed entitled “Tear Down This Icon: Why the GOP Has to Get over Ronald Reagan.” Ms. Rubin says the Gipper was in a time warp and should be discounted. “The old guard has become convinced that Reagan’s solutions to the problems of his time were the essence of conservatism – not simply conservative ideas appropriate for that era,” she writes.

Funny, you never hear Democrats disowning Franklin Roosevelt or John F. Kennedy. Republicans, on the other hand, are supposed to abandon their principles, their most reliable voting bloc and their heroes if they know what’s good for them.

Which of Reagan’s conservative views were ephemeral? Opposition to socialism and communism? Belief in American exceptionalism? Market-based economics? Belief in the sanctity of life? Suspicion of big government? Reverence for the Almighty?

Reagan’s lodestars were his faith in God, the Constitution and the strengths of a free, industrious people. Ms. Rubin urges us to cast him aside and replace him with, uh, whatever the cool people think is cool right now.

“The public face of the GOP can no longer be aging, ill-tempered Reaganites such as John McCain and Jim DeMint,” Ms. Rubin scolds, “but must give way to a diverse, media-savvy generation that understands the America we actually live in. Only then can the essence of conservatism – the promotion of personal liberty – survive, and the GOP along with it.”

It’s not surprising that someone who throws John McCain into the same basket with Jim DeMint would reduce “the essence of conservatism” to “personal liberty.” The latter is the product of a society built on God-given, unalienable rights that governments cannot create and can only secure.

Personal liberty, while profoundly important, is not an end in itself. Personal responsibility is just as important. Without it, conservatism becomes a shallow quest for self-fulfillment, a sort of New Age Conservatism. At that point, it’s a short trip to discovering one’s navel as the source of meaning.

Ronald Reagan championed industriousness, capitalism, personal sacrifice, patriotism, faith, kinship and community spirit. These things often interfere with one’s “personal liberty.” So do children, who help us to grow up and out of ourselves.

Another word often abused by doublespeak is “tolerance.” It once meant living peaceably with those who might disagree. It grew out of the biblical conception of humility before God and the command to love one’s neighbor. Now it means waging war on the moral order in pursuit of faux “equality.”

“Tolerance,” wrote G.K. Chesterton, “is the virtue of the man without convictions.” The people today who wield “tolerance” like a commissar’s bloody ax actually do not lack convictions; they just want to punish anyone who does not share theirs.

When pro basketball player Jason Collins “came out,” the media went nuts. He was toasted from coast to coast, received congratulatory phone calls from President Obama and Bill Clinton, and made magazine covers.

On May 1, Washington Post sportswriter Mike Wise joined the parade by bashing “Old Testament moral certainty” and denouncing anyone who “trumpeted their bigotry under the guise of ‘religious beliefs.'” There’s no hint in Mr. Wise’s vitriolic column that someone could possibly hold sincere, faith-based moral beliefs. Bullies like the oxymoronically named Mr. Wise are types that the Age of Tolerance is spawning by the truckload.

This brings us to our final word, which is “brave.” Mr. Collins was widely hailed as brave, but it’s the few people who dared question the wisdom of his volitional behavior who are brave.

A lynch mob is chasing ESPN the Magazine writer Chris Broussard because he reiterated classic Christian doctrine to an interviewer: “If you’re openly living in unrepentant sin, whatever it may be – not just homosexuality, [but] adultery, fornication, premarital sex, whatever it may be – I believe that’s walking in open rebellion to God and to Jesus Christ. So I would not characterize that person as a Christian, because I don’t think the Bible would characterize him as a Christian.”

Another brave soul is Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, who on April 30 tweeted: “In a land of freedom, we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness.”

Like openly devout quarterback Tim Tebow, Mr. Griffin and Mr. Broussard are the brave ones – rocks in a flood tide of insanity and cowardice.

As we watch word after word twisted into doublespeak by corrupt elites, it brings to mind George Orwell’s observation: “Political language … is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.”

Robert Knight is senior fellow for the American Civil Rights Union and a columnist for The Washington Times.

Infanticide via Planned Parenthood

ACLJ Take Action  |  Contribute

Recently, a Planned Parenthood lobbyist argued that Planned Parenthood should have the right to kill a baby born alive after a botched abortion.

When asked what its abortionists would do if a baby was gasping for life on the abortion clinic table, this lobbyist told state legislators, “That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider.”

Planned Parenthood believes it is perfectly acceptable to abort a newborn infant.

Despicable.

But this is Planned Parenthood. This is what they stand for. And this is the organization we give hundreds of millions of our tax dollars to prop up – nearly half its annual budget.

The ACLJ is engaged in a multifaceted legal strategy to defund Planned Parenthood, through state legislatures, Congress, and the courts. We have filed two of the nation’s largest anti-fraud lawsuits against Planned Parenthood.

We are battling the billion-dollar abortion industry, and winning, but we need your help. Any tax-deductible gift you make today will be doubled toward our pro-life efforts.

Have your gift matched today.

Via e-mail: What really died at Auschwitz?

What really died at Auschwitz? Here’s an interesting viewpoint. The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez and published in a Spanish newspaper on Jan. 15, 2011.

It doesn’t take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe – and possibly to the rest of the world.

“I walked down the street in Barcelona and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz… We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretence of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime. Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves. Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it ‘offends’ the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it.

It is now more than sixty years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, twenty million Russians, ten million Christians, and nineteen-hundred Catholic priests who were ‘murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated.’ Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be ‘a myth,’ it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people. Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center ‘NEVER HAPPENED’ because it offends some Muslim in the United States? If our Judeo-Christian heritage is offensive to Muslims, they should pack up and move to Iran, Iraq or some other Muslim country.

From a veteran friend: What others see plainly, we often ignore.

What others see plainly, we often ignore.

I remember asking dad about Castro when I was about 9 years old. I asked, “Is Castro a good guy or bad?”

Dad said, “He couldn’t tell!!”

This was about 1955. We were living in Louisiana at the time. Dad was in the Army there. Cuba was fairly close and in the news a lot. The Cubans were asking the same question! Ike was president.

This past July, we had the pleasure of sharing a summer barbecue with a refugee from Cuba. Our dinner conversation was starkly different than most.

This refugee came to the United States as a young boy in the early 1960’s. His family was more fortunate than most, as they were able to bring a suitcase…and $100 when they fled Castro’s newly formed revolutionary paradise.

Our dinner consisted of all-American fare: hamburgers, potato salad, watermelon and fresh ears of sweet corn. This is a menu shared with family and friends nationwide…while celebrating the birth of our beloved America…on the Fourth of July.

We began with a simple discussion about our country, and the direction it has taken since Barack Obama came to power. We shared the usual complaints about the sour economy and liberal social engineering emanating from the rulers in Washington .

But then he said it. The sentence came naturally. I assume it was unplanned. But it carried the weight of a freight train. “You know when Castro took power, none of us knew he was a Communist”.

We sat stunned. He continued, “Yes, we all thought he was a patriot, a nationalist. Before the revolution he didn’t sound like a radical.”

The comparison at this point was easy, and I interjected, “You mean just like Barack Obama?”

He responded; “Yes, just like Barack Obama.”

He continued, “We were all shocked as the government just continued to grab more power. First they said the revolution is over, so please turn in your guns. We all complied.”

I remember my uncle saying after it started; “Castro will only nationalize some of the big industries. He will never come and take our family hardware store!!” But that is exactly what happened. Castro started with the sugar mills and the large industries, but they eventually came and knocked on the door of our family hardware store. My family had run this store for generations. They said we now own the hardware store, you work for us. And that nice, large four-bedroom home you own…it is now our property also, and…you can move yourself and five children into two rooms of the house, because others are moving in with you.”

The lesson learned from this discussion, is a lesson most Americans refuse to hear. Political leaders can lie about their agenda and once in office…they can take totally unexpected turns.

If you had asked us three years ago if we thought General Motors would be nationalized, we would have never believed it.. We could never contemplate a country where the rule of law, the most fundamental building block of a justice society…would be evaporating, just like it did in Castro’s Cuba in the early 1960’s.

But the news of injustice keeps increasing. Black Panthers are not charged with wrong doing by the U.S. Department of Justice…because their crimes are against whites. The bondholders of GM are stripped of their assets…without due process by the government! Governmental leaders are bribed in full daylight…only to have all investigation of the crimes stifled…by the Attorney General.

The U.S. Borders are over run with crime and illegal activity, and the leaders in D.C. Act as if it is important to protect the lawbreakers….while the innocent are killed and over run. When local communities attempt to enforce the law, they are ridiculed…and threatened as racists and bigots. They are sued by the very administration…entrusted with enforcing the law.

Without the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution is a sham!! Without the rule of law, our beloved America is swiftly becoming a country where only the well connected and politically powerful will be safe. As Michelle Malkin has so eloquently explained in her recent book…a culture of corruption has replaced honest government.

The only way this problem will be fixed, is by massive citizen action. All honest citizens that want to be treated equally, must come together…and demand that the favoritism, the bribes, the uneven enforcement of law…end now!! And yes, it can happen here.

Warnings from George Washington

Patriot Action Network     We are the Tea Party

Posted by It ain’t my diaper that stinks on July 20, 2012 at 6:44am

Annoyed by the constant assault on the Constitution and the Founders, and by being told they are not for today, I give you what George Washington said 216 years ago.

George Washington on:

Patriot Distrust of Government:

“there will always be reason to distrust the patriotism of those who in any quarter may endeavour to weaken its bands.”

Respect by the Elected for the Constitution:

“Respect for its authority, compliance with its laws, acquiescence in its measures, are duties enjoined by the fundamental maxims of true liberty. The basis of our political systems is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government. But the constitution which at any time exists till changed by an explicit and authentic act of the whole people is sacredly obligatory upon all. The very idea of the power and the right of the people to establish government presupposes the duty of every individual to obey the established government.”

Subversion:

“All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction; to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community, and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans, digested by common councils and modified by mutual interests.

However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things to become potent engines by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”

Overthrowing the Government by Constitutional Alterations:

“One method of assault may be to effect in the forms of the Constitution alterations which will impair the energy of the system, and thus to undermine what cannot be directly overthrown.”

Abuses of Power and the Ruin of Liberty:

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual, and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation on the ruins of public liberty.

Real Despotism:

It is important, likewise, that the habits of thinking in a free country should inspire caution in those entrusted with its administration to confine themselves within their respective constitutional spheres, avoiding in the exercise of the powers of one department to encroach upon another. The spirit of encroachment tends to consolidate the powers of all the departments in one, and thus to create, whatever the form of government, a real despotism.

The Public Credit: (National debt)

As a very important source of strength and security, cherish public credit. One method of preserving it is to use it as sparingly as possible, avoiding occasions of expense by cultivating peace, but remembering also that timely disbursements to prepare for danger frequently prevent much greater
disbursements to repel it; avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt, not only by shunning occasions of expense, but by vigorous exertions in times of peace to discharge the debts which unavoidable wars have occasioned, not ungenerously throwing upon posterity the burden which we ourselves ought to bear. (He has several paragraphs warning against borrowing money from foreign nations.)

National Defense:

Taking care always to keep ourselves by suitable establishments on a respectable defensive posture, we may safely trust to temporary alliances for extraordinary emergencies.

Usurpation:

If, in the opinion of the people, the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates. But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this in one instance may be the instrument of
good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed.

Obligation of Patriots:

…”the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.” “From their natural tendency it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose; and there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be by force of public opinion to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume.

Closing comment: The current administration including Mr. Obama, on all points presented by the First President, has failed to comply and by definition is a despot. I am wondering if there is a sitting Congress person willing to read these points into the Congressional Record, because they mean something to them personally and every member of Congress needs reminded. It is shameful that George Washington’s warnings have gone totally unheeded by those who call themselves Patriots and embrace a tyrant. We, the People, are not terrorists. We are uniformly vigilant, and seek to restrain despotism in protecting our government because we are a wise people.

This excerpt from a PAN members comment:

Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way that you can quickly understand. This quote came from the Czech Republic. Someone over there has it figured out. It was translated into English from an article in the Prague newspaper, Prager Zeitungon

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.”
